Seow Tzi Qin
Chef Partner at Jiak Kim House & Culinary Director at The Brewerkz Group
Seow Tzi Qin
Chef Partner at Jiak Kim House & Culinary Director at The Brewerkz Group
At just 36 years old, Chef-Partner Seow Tzi Qin (TQ) is the visionary behind the tasteful Jiak Kim House. Interestingly, becoming a chef was not the trajectory Chef TQ initially envisioned for himself. His culinary journey began unexpectedly at the age of 21, right after completing his National Service, when he joined Tung Lok Classics as Chef de Partie. It was there that he discovered a hidden passion for Chinese cuisine that, unbeknownst to him, would shape his remarkable career. Immersing himself in the fundamentals of Chinese cuisine sparked a newfound enthusiasm, propelling him into the realm of culinary arts. Chef TQ went on to pursue formal training at At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy, graduating in 2012. Since then, he has built a diverse and well-rounded portfolio across several esteemed restaurants, steadily climbing the ranks. He began honing his skills in French cuisine and fine dining as a Junior Sous Chef at Les Amis and further refined his expertise as a Sous Chef at La Taperia, an intimate Spanish restaurant under the Les Amis Group. Subsequently, he took the helm as Executive Head Chef at 1919 Waterboat House, where he led the kitchen team and crafted menus that showcased his flair and artistry. Since donning the mantle of Group Executive Chef at The BrewerkzGroup in 2019, Chef TQ has been an indispensable force in driving the group's kitchen operations. His efforts were well recognized, and in 2024, he was promoted to Culinary Director of The Brewerkz Group, overseeing nine gastronomic restaurants. Chef TQ infuses The Brewerkz Group with an inspiring energy, particularly at Jiak Kim House, where his culinary artistry captivates and takes centre stage. Focusing on inventive contemporary Asian delights, his creations seamlessly weave together influences from the diverse tapestry of flavours he has savoured over the years, expertly executed with the techniques he has mastered throughout his career. “I love the satisfaction of perfecting a dish and doing so consistently. In the kitchen, mastering a dish is not just about success but also about learning to navigate failures,” Chef TQ muses. This philosophy shapes his approach, motivating and inspiring him to serve inventive Asian cuisine brimming with bold flavours.

Managing Principal, Hassell
Tulsi calls Singapore home, but he’s made a mark on interior design projects across Asia, Africa and Australia. Whether it’s a hotel, restaurant or residence, he understands the ‘lifestyle’ space – and how to make a lasting impression within it. In addition to overseeing prominent projects in the Asia region, he contributes to our business strategy and design direction as a global practice. Tulsi’s work is always grounded in the most relevant and compelling evidence he can gather. Starting from that solid base, he looks at how to harness technology, innovation and passive design strategies to create authentic and purposeful experiences.
